Quote of the Day
"Many of the great achievements of the world were accomplished by tired and discouraged men who kept on working." Anonymous
A little bit about me.

My name is Erick Quintero also known as Babaloo from Pod is My Copilot. I am a gay Cuban-American born as raised in Miami, Florida. Currently living in Tampa Bay, Saint Petersburg, Florida.
As a young child, playing pretend with my brother, it was the beginning of creating strange and wonderful worlds in which we constructed and re-constructed. My passion for creation later grew as a passion for the arts. In High school and college I studied everything from theatre to film production to creative writing. During my college years my passion for creating grew a step further as I personally became a fan of comic books, short stories and theatre. As well as, TV & movies based on vampires, superheroes, fantasy, drama’s, comedies, sitcoms…you name it! My mind quickly developed an eclectic array of my own stories of love, adventure, drama, fantasy of other worlds. Teachers and professors had praised how much they enjoyed my writing. During hard times, visiting my world(s) was a way of escape.
Within the past 10 years I have participated in many different jobs & venues. I have volunteered in Film Festivals, worked on many small independent films & documentaries, a production assistant for Telemundo advertising dept, helped in small community theatre’s as a stage manager. As well as volunteered for Hospice as a camp counselor and walked St Pete AIDS walk. I will be participating in writers clubs and groups. Finally, there is my day job as an sales account coordinator for major corporate insurance firm….So now after 10 years of being the “jack of trades” there is nothing more I would like to do than to write about the worlds that have patiently been stewing in my head. Ready to be unleashed.
"If you stop chasing your dream, you are already dead" Steve Mazan

Who is Steve Mazan? He is a comedian.....with liver cancer. He was diagnosed with Liver Cancer in 2003. The doctors' told him he had 5 years to live. So after coming to grips with the news, he decided that he wanted nothing more than perform in David Letterman. He petitioned to be in the show numerous times, as well as started a website called DyingtoDoLetterman.com but the producers refused and said you had to earn to be in the show. So, he did. He performed stand up on numerous occasions and even got to perform in Craig Ferguson's talk show twice.
Then it happened, he got the call.
Last night, after 4 and a half years, his wish came true. He performed stand up on David Letterman. Not to mention, there is also a documentary on his journey currently in production.
The link is a clip from his performance. The video is really bad quality but it was the only one I could find...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFkYUEQsgZo
I'm Baaackkkk!!!!!!

After a of few weeks hiatus, I am back and ready to take on the world.
I have been thinking a lot of the blog and that was my problem. I was thinking too hard. Granted I thought of a few cool ideas for future projects but I will continue on as I originally started.
I have decided to make one change, and that is, the weeks counting down to Dec 2010. The goal is to do as many as I can by Dec 2010 but that doesn’t mean it’s the end of my journey. So for now I will think of this year as book 1.……or something like that.
Anyway, I have not been doing anything for my weight loss…..What I have been focusing on is my writing. I have been reading and writing a little more. More to come.
This was just a quick note.
